Sandblasting with abrasives play a crucial role in ensuring that surfaces are thoroughly cleansed of rust, old paint, and other contaminants. As time passes, steel tanks such as water towers, chemical storage tanks, oil tanks, wastewater treatment facilities, concrete tanks, ground storage tanks, standpipes, secondary containment structures, and flammable liquid storage vessels are prone to rust and corrosion, which gradually degrade their structural integrity. To effectively address this issue, sandblasting using copper slag emerges as the optimal solution for removing rust and corrosion from both the interior and exterior surfaces of the tank. Abrasive blasting techniques ensure the elimination of existing corrosion and coatings down to the bare substrate. Furthermore, this process creates a sandpaper-like profile on the surface, facilitating proper adhesion with the new coating system applied, thus enhancing the longevity and performance of the tank.

Partially replacing fine aggregate with copper slag reduces the cost of concrete production. At 40% copper slag replacement, there's an approximately 6.67% increase in compressive strength compared to the 100% sand after 28 days of curing. Additionally, mixtures containing 50% copper slag exhibit higher split tensile strength, showing an increase of nearly 19.3% compared to the sand after 28 days of curing.
